hi im most likely to get a blue and gold but im not shure tell me your experiances and the breed and maby a picture

I have three macaws (Hahn’s, Severe, and Harlequin). They are very expensive, noisy and messy.
Will this be your bird or your parents? I see that you are 12. This is a very long commitment as the macaws can live up to 50 years.
I have 3 cages that cost total about $1600.00. In food weekly, I spend about $75.00. For toys, I spend about $200.00 per month. The yearly vet visits are $125.00 per bird. There is also the cage cleaning…..big birds make big poop. Cleaning and chopping the fresh fruits to feed them every day. There is also the issue of noise. Macaws are from the jungle, and even if your bird was bred here in the US, they still have their daily “Jungle Call” which usually happens early in the morning (sunrise) and then in the afternoon (sunset). In the jungle, an adult macaws call can be heard for up to 3 miles, so imaging what it will sound like in your house (and I have 3 of them)!!
They are beautiful and I love them, but they take up a lot of my spare time and all of them need daily attention. You can’t just leave them in the cage. Vacations are another issue because I have to find someone to babysit them and spend time with them daily until I come back home, so I usually don’t go anywhere.
I have had birds for many years, and I would never tell anyone not to get one. Just make sure that you do your research so you know what you are getting into.
