Why is my male parakeet’s feet so hot?
I just got two parakeets, one male one female, and when my male is on my finger his feet sometimes feel really hot, like they are buring up. I don’t know why, so if you could answer my question that would be great.
This means that your bird is healthy. The only exposed skin on the bird is the skin on his feet. the rest are covered with their feathers. When the bird heats up, the blood vessels near their feet dilate making the blood come in close proximity to the feet which causes the excess heat escape from the body allowing them to cool down.
