House Finch nest meets my father + mother… please help!?
My dad made me move a House Finch nest that under our rolled-up awning, and there were three eggs inside. I moved it to a hanging basket nearby, and it doesn’t look like they’re coming back…
My mom touched the eggs (I know you aren’t supposed to, but my mom doesn’t) and they’re VERY warm. I already have one egg inside and am trying to keep it warm in a nest of tissues near a lamp, but I’m feeling VERY guilty about the other two outside.
So… should I go get the other two and try to keep them all warm? Or is there still some chance that the parents will come back and raise them?
And what it the optimal temperature to try to hatch these little eggs? :[

Take the other 2. The parents will not come back but will kill the chicks if they do. If you are up to raising 3 chicks, do it but I would suggest leaving the eggs outside if you can’t be with the chicks 24/7. The female incubates the eggs for 12 to 14 days and the young leave the nest about 11 to 19 days after hatching. Dandelion seeds are among the preferred seeds fed to the young. I’d say get a hot-cold pack and put it in the microwave to make it warm;more hot that cold and get a beenie baby bird and put that on top.
