My parakeet may lay eggs, I need to know for sure, please help!?
My two parakeets mate usually everyday, many times a day and I believe that my female may be about to lay eggs. Her stomach is larger than usual, she keeps just sitting on her perch rocking back and forth with her eyes shut and is unusually quiet. She made a few motions to go into the nesting box that is attached to the cage but every time the male has stopped her by either going to bite her or squacking really loudly. She seems to be eating quite a bit. I really need help, I want to know if shes going to be laying eggs and if she is then how to i get her to go into the nesting box. Its hard to say if she will or won’t. It is major important that you are feeding her multiple foods enriched with calcium. My cockatiel got bound and died and it was very sad.
