parakeet clip wings
What is the best way to tame a parakeet without clipping its wings? :) ?

Hello, I just wanted to know if anyone had any brilliant ways to tame a parakeet without having its wings clipped, i just don’t like the idea of taking away its ability to fly just so it can sit on my finger :) He is a Rosey Bourke Parakeet called Mr Bumble, who has been bought from a pet shop, and is around 7 months old :)

Thanks for your help
He is not allowed to fly around dangerous objects

Sorry you don’t want to clip his wings BUT it’s safer for him if you do. You just want to clip them short enough so that he can still fly down, just not up. Parrots can land in toilets and drown, in pots cooking on the stove, hit ceiling fans or fly out a door or window.

Don’t put a second bird in with your first, they’ll bond to each other, not you.

There’s a site called birdboard.com

Go check it out, there’s lots of info on everything you’d want to know and you can ask questions, also.
