Anyone know any good books how to breed parrots?
I have to Macaws a male and female. I want to read how I would get sarted, some general information. Ive asked petstores with birds and they are really vague. Any brid breeders out there can share some tips and knoweldge with me?
It’s more like something you need a mentor for.
Parrots can be as picky as people when they choose mates. Its more complex than getting a male and female in the same cage. Parrots have been known to kill potential mates if they aren’t suited to one another.
You need hands on help. Put a flyer up at the petstores and vet for a mentor. There are folks out there that would love to help you.
Also, if there is a zoo nearby, they may be able to give you tips.
Wildlife people may be able to help. Parrots are not a domesticated species and you may find someone with knowledge of them. Look in the phone book for a wildlife rehabilitation facilities.
