Can you keep a parakeet with another type of bird?
My daughter had two female parakeets and one has just passed away. I don’t want the other one to get lonely and have been thinking of getting her another bird but am trying to see if I can get her a different type of bird instead of another parakeet but house them together. I have a large flight cage for the parakeet so I know space wouldn’t be an issue.
If you want to be able to hold, pet, and play with a bird you should never put it in a cage with any other bird. When two or more birds are in one cage together they will bond with each other and become aggressive with humans. There are always exceptions, but why take the chance.
