how to care parakeets love bird and best food?
1. Cage should be large enough for the birds to fly around a little. The cage needs to be cleaned every day – line the bottom of the cage with newspaper and replace it with fresh newspaper every morning. Keep the cage away from very cold and very hot areas in the house, and do not use aerosols near the birds (no Lysol or air fresheners).
2. Fresh water and food every day. Clean their bowls as needed.
3. I feed my birds ZuPreem pellet food from Petsmart, along with chopped fresh veggies and fruits. My birds love apples, oranges and berries especially. They also like millet spray. Adding a cuttlebone to the cage helps them keep their beak trim and get calcium.
4. Birds like to be around people! Be sure you spend time with them every day. Talk to them, play with them if they are tame. Pick up a few bird toys from the store!
